We want to have a debt free Christmas. We want to enjoy our holidays without thinking of our finances. For these reasons, I decided to write this series Christmas In July: How To Have A Debt Free Christmas so you all can get to enjoy your Christmas the way you intended it.

If you haven’t read the last two posts, simply click here and catch up. I think it is important that you read them before you read this one since I feel that in order to have a debt free Christmas, we have to be mentally ready as well.

Now that you have committed to having a debt free Christmas, it is time now to start writing down our goals and creating a plan for Christmas. When you start writing down what your plans are for Christmas, it makes it more real.

When you write goals, it helps you stay focused and motivated. However, you don’t have to write your goals; you can have pictures and hang them on the wall, set them as a reminder on your phone, or whatever you would like. The most important thing is that it needs to be somewhere that will help you stay motivated.

Once you have your goal set, hit the budget and set an amount. How much can you afford? This is a question you have to answer honestly. HOW MUCH CAN YOU AFFORD?

If you read the last post about having the right mindset, you will know that being honest and having the right mindset is extremely important when it comes to having a financial debt free Christmas.

How much are you willing to spend on your kids? How much is enough?

With a budget in place and a goal in mind, it is time to talk about it with your family! You see, if you are honest with yourself and others and make this challenge a fun one, your chances at succeeding at having a debt free Christmas are good. Really good!

Now that you have your goals and your budget, we can now find ways to make extra money without getting a part-time job. Finding ways to make money for Christmas is not as hard as you think, and honestly, if you set your mind to it, you can really earn some good money.

Starting early and having a plan will help you earn extra cash for Christmas, the ideas are endless. One thing I will tell you is that you have to be creative and know that how much or little you make, it will add up!

Why is finding ways to make money for Christmas important?

Why not? Why settle for your regular income? If you have set goals for a debt free Christmas and started working your Christmas budget, making extra money is important and so worth it.

Starting to make extra cash before Christmas will allow you to achieve your goals faster. Having the extra cash will help you during your holiday season. Not having to worry about money around Christmas time is the best feeling ever!

How To Make Money For Christmas Without Getting a Part-Time Job

Yard Sale – During the upcoming fall season, start preparing and organizing items that you no longer need or want and sell them an a yard sale. What are the best ways to make money from stuff you no longer need?

Have a yard sale or a garage sale during the upcoming months. This is the best way to get rid of your clutter and earn cash for the upcoming holiday season. You can have a successful yard sale, or garage sale, if you plan for this event in advance. Learn more about my yard sale takeaways here.

Please make sure you avoid these mistakes if you plan on having a yard sale:

• Price your items.
• Price to sell.
• Make sure your items are in good condition to sell (clean).
• Keep it organized.
• Advertise your yard sale.
• Have change for your customers.

Online Surveys – Believe it or not, you can make extra money by simply doing surveys online, reading e-mails, and even watching watching videos. There are tons of companies that will pay you for doing these simple things. However, you will not get rich doing this, but it will add up if you start now. Having extra cash and free gift cards for Christmas will be extremely helpful.

The negative side of doing online surveys are:

• You won’t get as much money right way.
• It is time consuming. Sometimes it can be a waste of time if you answer a bunch of questions only to find out that you didn’t qualify.

You can still score points like Swagbucks and use this toward rewards. So not all of them are a waste of time.

Swagbucks is my personal favorite and one of my favorite sites where I score free gift cards. I save up my Swagbucks and redeem them for Amazon gift cards to shop during the holiday season. Unlike other survey companies, you don’t waste your time answering questions only to be rejected after spending 15 minutes on what you thought was the survery.

Craigslist/eBay/Facebook  – If a yard sale is not your thing, then try selling your things online. Sites like eBay and Craigslist are great ways to sell your unwanted items and make extra cash. Also, Facebook has (yard sale) groups where you can sell your items locally. My suggestion would be to sell locally. It’s fast, easy, and saves on shipping fees.

Smart phone Mobile Apps –  If you read my apps posts, you will know that I love getting cash from mobile apps. Yes, you can get money back for items you purchase, for scanning items when you shop, even for walking into a store! These apps are legit and I personally use them. Last year, I was able to pay for groceries with the money I made using my smart phone apps.

Again, you don’t get a lot of money up front, but it adds up. Read more about apps that pay you real money here.

Side Hustles – Yes, hustle… not the way you think, this is legal. I need money; I babysit, I clean houses, I drive someone to work for money. I do what it takes to get me some cash.

My husband works on computers and fixes them on the side. He installed a surveillance system for his friend’s business for extra cash. I work 16 hours watching my cousin for extra cash. Offer your services to friends and family for extra cash.

I blog for side hustle from home and I am earning a side income doing it. Don’t believe me? Read my online income reports. I do this for a few hours a week and from home and I love it.

The ways to make money for Christmas are endless. It all depends on you, and let me add that once you start earning that extra dinero, it gets addicting. To have a debt free Christmas, having extra cash is so beneficial in many ways.

For this Christmas in July challenge, start looking for ways to make extra money for Christmas and get to work. Remember to write your Christmas goals, start a budget, and get motivated.
